Cresson Lake Playhouse, PennCrest Bank hosts music festival

The first annual PennCrest Bank Music Festival was held Saturday evening at the Cresson Lake Playhouse.

The weather didn't rain on their parade.

They used their indoor and outdoor venues for visitors to listen to professional musicians throughout the evening.

Organizers say they hope to make this summer fundraiser an annual event.

Artistic Director Paul Seymour said the pandemic cancelled their last two seasons.

"This is our first big event since the pandemic. I think it's one of the reasons why we have a lot of excitement and energy going into this event," he told 6 News.

Performers included:

  • Bruce Shettig. Bruce, a real estate appraiser in Lilly;
  • Duo Walt and Jackie, who were voted “Simply the Best” Entertainers in Johnstown;
  • Two Far Gone, the duo of Denise Baldwin and Roy Milstead;
  • And solo performer Clay Bowser, a popular musician in the region and a real crowd pleaser.

"Then we're following this with a whole summer of theater events, summer concerts, and all kinds of things. So, we're excited to kick things back again," he said.

Their first live theater production will run six times (July 13th - 18th) called "The Drowsy Chaperone" in their barn theater.
